The local authority has decided to cease to maintain my child's EHC plan. Under section 45 of the Children and Families Act 2014, an authority may cease only if it is no longer responsible for the child or it determines that it is no longer necessary for the plan to be maintained. Needs remain present and the special educational provision specified in the plan continues to be required. Ending the plan would remove enforceable support that professionals and school records show is still necessary.
